Pee?? In the coffee pot?? Why?! I am so glad I have given up coffee and I refuse to think about all of those times I made coffee in my hotel room while I was traveling!!

I always travel with a plastic bottle of vinegar. You never know what you have to wash & disinfect! Saw a news report about the glasses. The maid was just rinsing them out in the (dirty) sink & putting the paper covers on them … yuck! As far as the comforters & blankets go, they are the first thing I take off the bed, I don’t even sit on them. While the sheets may get washed, the comforters & blankets are just put back on the bed. P.S. Use the vinegar to wipe down the sink, toilet, remote control, desks, tables & door knobs. Not a germ-a-phobe, but things aren’t cleaned like they should be!

coffee pot aside, I usually get grossed out by the glasses in the bathroom in hotels. I just feel like they don’t get washed often. Then again, there’s the whole bed/sheets/comforter issue…I’m sure they’re cesspools, even in nice plac e. I just need to start staying with friends or at 5 star places only

I agree, Crab.
I’d gone so many worse places (with the words VICE COP in the comments & all my potty training time as of late) in my head that when Renaissance Man said to me:

Guess you’re not drinking&cooking a’plenty out of that thing any longer when we travel!

I merely shrugged and figured I’d be lucky to remember to run a cycle of pure boiling water first.

As with how we’re supposed to believe that eating raw cookie dough is gonna kill us (the uncooked eggs…) I’ve lived this long without incident so I figure why fret.

M., who isn’t going to be at Blogher (*wipes a proteintear from eye*) but is fo’ shizzle at the next one (& is clueless but assumes it’s a year away?)
