The Great Tattoo Tweeting of 2009.

Subtitle: Have I seriously been yammering about this since JANUARY? Good GOSH you must be ready for the needle to be put to skin.
For those of you who have been playing along at home this Sunday is finally the day.
After months & months and MONTHS spent langishing on my artist’s waiting list this weekend I’m getting the entire outline of my Look At Me I’m Finally A Member of the 40 Year Olds Club! tattoo done.
For those of you who havent been playing along at home allow me to present the short version: Leg. Big. Seuss. Images. Quotes. (there. you’re all caught up.)
In honor of this event (& because so many of you have commented/emailed me asking about the tattoo process) I am going to live tweet the entire thing the parts which aren’t so painful I cannot.

I was definitely a bit nervous to click on the TORNADO link; was somewhat relieved, tho, at what I found. Soon enough for the real ones I guess (but what age? so glad I am not a parent and don’t have to figure that stuff out).
I am totally excited about you getting your tattoo–it is ALMOST enough to drag my aging ass into the twitter thing. Not QUITE yet, but you’re seriously tempting me.

For me it is the feeling that the tattoo was always there and just rises to surface when ink is placed on skin.
Does that make sense?
I’ve gone to have one done before and LEFT (after waiting for the appt day etc. Yes I did offer to still pay ;)) because I didn’t have that feeling.

I’m still too flighty to know what my tattoo would be (in terms of your “always there” sense) BUT I gotta say every time I’ve gotten mehendi I’ve just gazed adoringly down at my arms and hands and felt happy to see such beautiful, intricate artwork on ME.

I wish you a pain free experience……but gosh, you are so tough, you can handle it right? Hubby has 3 tattoos and would have more if he could!!!
I will be 39 this month. I will have to think of something great to do when I turn 40. I’m thinking an exotic vacation ;)without kids!

Miz - I totally understand your explaination about wanting a tattoo. I had said for years that I was going to celebrate my college graduation by getting inked. But it took another four years for it to happen. And it happened in a tattoo shop in Dallas, TX - I live in Georgia. Weird to some, but that time, that place, and who I was with made it feel “right”. And now, 8 months later, I love the tat more than ever.

I don’t twitter & not there yet. Something but too many messages coming in that I can’t keep up with. As for tattoos, when I could afford it, my eyebrows is as far as I would go.. permanent eyebrows (or until you have to do them again!) is considered a tattoo!
Good luck! I just found you not so long a go so not sure I understand all the background! Well, I don’t.. HA! and I lovelove how youve jumped right in since we fortuitously met! and background? just that I adore Seuss. Love the messages about creativity & how we
