It IS a little misfit’y crazy, but this misfit firmly believes it works.

Three simple steps to thinking yourself fit until you ARE the fit person you will soon be (power of positive thinking).

Create your story.  What would FitYou eat, drink, read, think, DO each day?

Tell.Everyone. They may think you’re a misfit–but letting friends know the YOU youre working toward is a key step.  It helps your PEEPS start seeing you as the fit person you will soon become.

Respond as the Fit You would.  Before you do *anything* pause and ask yourself: how would superfit me respond to this situation?

I was MizFitUpAtCrack for the flight yesterday.
It was early even for me.
I was tired.
I was messy.
I was soon obsessed with purplizing the ends of my hair when I spied the photo (above) in my seatmate’s magazine.

(Any hair stylists out there? This is a bad idea, yes? I want. I want.)

Flying to NYC was uneventful.

The cab ride to the hotel was fraught with events.

Suffice it to say I had the pleasure of riding with a cabbie who was experiencing his very first day on the job.

The ride involved a little panic attack (his).

Pulling over, sitting and panicking (again him).

Examining of google maps (me).

Being wholly unable to read a map (him).

Phone calls (me and him. with him pressing his phone to my ear and asking me to speak to someone who did not speak English. Or Fitness).

Tears (him).

Lots of reassuring (me to him).

Eventual tipping (again me to him though it should probably have been the other way around).

I finally made it to the Hilton (shoutout to the *hard* to locate Stone St. Doubletree!), unpacked my newly procured winter garb (photo above) and set out to find me some Kelly Olexa.

And the fitness center.

Not in that order and *not* to workout (as evidenced by the streetclothes photo above).

We headed out into the cold and forraged for food.

And then headed back indoors and forraged for Fitfluential people.

And then ate.

Again.

And talked.

A lot.

I promise it gets more exciting…

And 100% why no one wants to room with me on trips like this one.

The Tornado and I love to sing this song as a duet and she insists my shutting up during on singing the “Ive had six cups of coffee so IM REALLY QUITE AWAKE!!!” line.

She has no idea what coffee is—-but she knows mama likes.

Im off to play in NYC…

A while ago I jetted off to LA to speak on a panel about branding, blogging, and making your passion your income.

(I know. That last piece was an attention grabber for me, too.  I learned a TON while sitting on the panel which is the reason I want to share…)

One of you I was swamped by requests for a link to the panel, but had assumed it was something only available with a virtual ticket to the event.

Blog World was gracious enough to allow me to share the recording and I encourage you to watch it when you have the time.

There’s lots of helpful information shared by panelists and interesting audience questions addressed as well (and yeah. my name is misspelled. you’ll have that. a lot.)

Yesterday was cold and rainy in the ATX.

Im not complaining. Given our lack of rain the past year it was a welcome change and the perfect day to not exit the domicile and get lot of work finished.

Mid-day the doorbell rang (and rang and rang) and it was the UPS man.

I figured he needed me to sign for a package, but when I opened the door he said sheepishly:

No signature for this one. Im just curious what’s inside. All day it has been saying (insert words from video snippet below) and it made me laugh. What is it?!

Given the close relationship he and I have (one to which all other bloggers can relate Im sure) I invited him into the kitchen and ripped into the box.

Inside was a product promotion and this:

A random button (with an on & off switch thank goodness) which each time you press bestows upon you some Sweet Talking Ken-like words.**

I tried to convince the UPS man to keep it (he admitted it had made him smile throughout his day) but he refused.

The Tornado, however, was happy to appropriate it as her own.

She ambled around Austin all afternoon button-pressing and announcing to friends & strangers alike:

Hold on. I have a compliment for you!

It made me smile.

It made her giggle.

It caused more than a few weather-grumpy folks to reluctantly let out a laugh.

She’s already up and at it (if by ‘it’ you mean running around pressing the WOW button which I do) and we’re heading out for breakfast.

Look for us Austin.

We’re coming.

We’re bearing four second compliments.
